Successfully transfer Canon EOS 5D Mark 3 recorded 1080p MOV video to iMovie for editing

What is your best camera? I will say Canon EOS 5D Mark iii is the best. It features a 22.3 Megapixel Full Frame CMOS sensor and supports Full HD Movie recording. The most important is that the recorded video file is H.264 MOV, I can directly copy these videos to my Apple iPad for watching. It is a pity that my iMovie doesn't work well with the 1080p HD recordings. I know reason is that the best format of iMovie is Apple Intermediate Codec.

Get trouble with Sony PDW-700 recorded MXF files in Adobe Premiere Elements

Have you got one Sony Professional XDCAM HD Camcorder PDW-700? If so, you may get trouble with the recorded MXF files in Adobe Premiere Elements. Why? Let's learn about the formats.

MPEG HD422 (MPEG-2 422P@HL) (CBR: 50 Mb/s)
MPEG HD (MPEG-2 MP@HL):
HQ mode (VBR, maximum bit rate: 35 Mb/s)
SP mode (CBR, 25 Mb/s)
LP mode (VBR, maximum bit rate: 18 Mb/s) - playback only
MPEG IMX (MPEG-2 422P@ML) (50/40/30 Mb/s)
DVCAM (CBR, 25 Mb/s)

From the above, we can know the camcorder surpports a lot of codecs in form of MXF. But if you try to import PDW-700 50 Mb/s MPEG-2 422 HD footages to Adobe PE for further editing, you may meet the incompatible message.
